Medicare is a health program initiated by the U.S. government in 1965 under the government of President Lyn Johnson. It's social welfare programs in the U.S. for to provide assistance for health care in the form of cash to people over 65 years of age, disabled and under 65 years, with renal failure permanent, fixed age on the test. The funds come from Medicare payroll taxes and individual contributions.
The original program has two packages benefits and options of Medicare Part A and Part B. Coverage of Part A of Medicare as described in www government is for hospital expenses and these charges include hospitalization, etc. In addition, Part B is intended to cover expenses such as outpatient consultation fees, fees physiotherapists, etc.
Recently, however, two other options for Medicare Part C and Part D were added to better address health care needs. When one chooses the options A and B of pocket expenses are inevitable and that these options do not cover all expenses, which only cover a certain percentage of total costs. As these options are relatively limited, people who are enrolled in these packages and the benefits of buying Medigap policy.
The Medigap policy is provided by a third health care in collaboration with Medicare. The policy objective is to fill the gaps in Medicare benefits thus giving a broadest coverage. With C of Medicare, higher coverage is achieved so there is a high probability of lower out of pocket expenses. When you purchase Medicare C, no need to buy a Medigap policy. Part D of the Medicare program is for long-term care, including services provided in nursing homes, etc.
