Should school require parents of new students to show proof of citizenship ?

If parents were to show proof of citizenship when they register their children in a new school district or state would this help stop illegal immigration ?
Was refering to public schools, not private ones. The private schools would be able to let in any students they wish.
Honestly, should people prove they are citizens of the U.S., before they put their kids in public schools ?

YES! Many school districts do not require this, because they want as many students as possible….More students=more dollars to there school district…..That is just wrong…
