Strikes Ngc

Looking to sell a 2006 EAGLE G$5. It’s a first strike, MS 69 and certified by NGC. How much can I get for it?

And where can I sell it? I saw one on eBay for $175, but I was told the current value was over $250. Should I hold on to it or sell now?

Numismatics is the study of money, medals, banknotes, coins and stock certificates. Is believed to have been established at the time of Julius Caesar, who wrote the first book on the subject. They are an independent body providing expert opinion in rating a coin. This site is also third party institution offering services solely to numismatists. It was established in 1987. In addition, PMG is solely for the authentication of paper money and a small department of PCGS.

When coin collecting was not as popular as it is now, there were only 3 categories in which a coin could fall: 1. Good – which means that the coin has all the details intact, 2. Fine – which means that the currency has all the details intact and still has some visible brightness, and 3. Out of print – which means that the coin was never put into market, thus maintaining its original appearance.

However, coin grading today has evolved and is becoming more defined. They use a combination of letters and numbers that correspond to the quality of a coin. The coin sorting system United States of America is the most comprehensive and recommended for beginners. An example of USA grading system: MS-60 to MS-70 which means that the coin is stain-free and has good color and strike. In short it's perfect!

Learn the proper grade of a coin is not only a gift is an art. It requires knowledge, exposure and obviously skills. For coin collectors, the ability to grade a coin is a must because the value of a currency depends largely on its degree.

Here are some of the components of Numismatic coin use in the classification

1. Luster – is a determining factor of whether or not a currency specific has been distributed. To get a higher grade, a coin must be technically intact and free from any imperfection or defect.
2. Preservation surface. The abrasion on the surface of the coin and its location is a very important factor in classifying a coin, but does not necessarily mean that the abrasion may reduce the extent of a coin. For example, if a good future coin has a severe abrasion on the back that is imperceptible, not count against the coin, but the question can not be the same if the abrasion is in the front or focal point.
3. Strike. Refers to the currency in which the design process of the coin is stamped on a planchet. In the overall standings, the strike does not weigh much.
4. Coloration. For some coin collectors, preservation of original color of the coin has a major impact on its value, especially if it is a copper or silver.
Visually appealing 5 .. Some coins can not be perfect but collectors find attractive, however, still requires expert opinion to the conclusion that a certain currency is excellent in all aspects.
